Learning to sew at a young age is a wonderful skill to master, it encourages creativity, mathematical skills, logical thinking and fine motor skill along with an ever growing consciousness of the ethical and environmental impact of the fashion industry of this era.
At Bobbin we encourage the use of full size Sewing Machines and use the Kids can Sew / Teens can Sew curriculum which is well used worldwide safe in the knowledge that your child or Teenager will get the best from our classes.
Projects include bag making and clothing and we encourage after the first project for each individual to choose what they want to make.
Classes are suitable for children from 8 years of age onwards with workbooks tailored to suit their age and abilities.
Our weekly summer holiday sessions take place on Thursday mornings for ages 8- 13 from 10am – 12.15 for 4 weeks
Weekly sessions for teenagers 13+ run on Friday afternoons 2pm – 4.15 pm
4 week sessions are £120 which includes an initial registration fee of £25 per child for the work books and patterns the initial registration lasts for 12 months so if your child wishes to continue during term time after school the course cost will be reduced accordingly. We provide fabrics for the first project, thereafter fabric packs for the projects will be available for a small fee of £4 – £10 depending on the project but you may wish to shop for your own. Most projects last a few weeks.
Numbers are restricted to 4 per class
