Level- A good set of sewing machine skills will be needed for this class but don’t let that put you off, we demonstrate the difficult bits.
The topics we aim to cover are:
• use darts to create shape and depth to a bag
• use foam stabiliser and interfacing to add structure and form to a bag
• create and attach straps to hold D rings
• add a magnetic snap fastener or turn clasp to secure the bag front flap
• optional skill – insert a zipped pocket
Materials needed:
• 50cm main fabric – if no pattern matching.
• 50 cm lining fabric this can be cotton or any other lightweight fabric
• matching threads
• 1 zip ( 8” or 9”) optional
If you wish to have a contrast pocket you need a piece of fabric approc 25cm wide by 20 long.
We provide the pattern designed by SpencerOgg for you to keep , all the hardware and foam interlining and include a tan leather strap, D rings, swivel clips etc.
