IS MY SEWING GOOD ENOUGH FOR THIS CLASS?
You would be surprised at how much you can achieve by only knowing how a sewing machine works and sewing a straight line! Our tutors are on hand to lead you step-by-step but we would suggest completing a ‘How To Use Your Sewing Machine’ course first if you have no experience or are feeling a bit rusty.
CAN I BRING MY OWN SEWING MACHINE?
Yes, if you would prefer it is always a good idea to use your own machine, but we do have sewing machines for your use in the class if you wish.
WHAT ELSE DO I NEED TO BRING?
We have plenty of haberdashery supplies – scissors, tape measures etc. but bring your own if you prefer. You will need to bring your own material for certain classes, details are found with the specified class details, we can provide calico and some fabric but we are limited. We have a few haberdashery items to buy if you would like.
HOW DO I BOOK AND PAY?
Visit our class booking page here. We prefer for you to pay via the booking page this takes you to Pay Pay, you don’t need a Pay pal account to use the site. We prefer this method as it gives security to both parties.
CAN I BUY GIFT VOUCHERS AS A PRESENT?
Yes! Gift vouchers are valid for twelve months from the date of purchase. We are sorry but we won’t be able to honour gift vouchers if not redeemed within the twelve months. After purchase we will email you a unique code and send a gift card via post. The voucher will have a code on it that needs to be redeemed on the website. You can book your gift voucher on our booking system.
IF I’M UNABLE TO ATTEND A CLASS CAN I GET A REFUND OR RESCHEDULE?
Unfortunately due to the special nature of our classes and the very limited enrolment places, classes are non-refundable and there are no catch-up opportunities for missed sessions. Please check your diary carefully and read our Terms and Conditions before you book a class. If you give us more than 30 days advance notice (in writing), we’re happy to transfer you to another class, space permitting, or issue you a voucher to use at your leisure. If you give us less than 30 days notice unfortunately we will be unable to provide you with a refund for your course.
However we don’t want to disappoint and as a courtesy , we will place your booking back to our waiting list or relist on our website and attempt to resell your space. If the space sells we will issue you a voucher by email after the class runs.
CAN I SEND MY FRIEND IF I CAN’T ATTEND?
If you find you are unable to attend one of our classes you may of course send someone in your place. Please let us know that person’s name before the class so we may welcome them.
IF WE HAVE TO CANCEL A CLASS
We will endeavour to hold all booked classes but in the unlikely event that a class has to be cancelled due to unforeseen circumstances, you’ll receive as much notice as possible. We will offer a credit, transfer your booking to another class or issue you a full refund – your choice, but we cannot be held responsible for other expenses.
WHERE CAN I FIND OUT ABOUT YOUR NEW CLASSES?
You can find details of our classes here – we will be updating the classes every season. Please sign up for our e-newsletter, which includes details about all new dates and upcoming events at Bobbin.
HOW MANY PEOPLE WILL BE IN MY CLASS?
The maximum number of people in any class is 5 when in The Consortium. Other venues vary but are limited to 8.
IS FOOD PROVIDED?
We provide tea, coffee etc and biscuits. Please bring your own lunch if the class runs all day, we do take breaks when you can pop out for refreshments at the many local cafes.
I WOULD LIKE TO LEARN HOW TO…..?
If you really want to learn something but we don’t offer it at the moment then let us know. If there is enough demand we will look to start a new class.
